"Soulscape" is the culmination of a year's worth of reflection, dedication, and determination to improve as a songwriter and express myself more clearly through my music. I took the chance to reflect on what made each of my previous albums unique and combine the best characteristics of each album together to make a cohesive sound. Older fans will recognize that Ashes is a remake of Obsidian Vision from my first album, but featuring vocals, and Blackness is an older track that was remade with vocals. Rain God is also an older track that has been remade. I worked with other musicians and vocalists on this album to give this album a more human element, which brings me to the concept of the album: I attempted to encompass the deepest feelings of the human soul throughout the album, and create a landscape of the soul that you are guided through, a "soulscape". There is joy, calm, mystery, fear, anger, sorrow, pain, and strength in these songs. I hope they resonate with you.
